Don't quit your daydream.

Just trail ran this on Sept 29th. Amazing fall color and the trail is mostly clear of snowfields. This is a great run with a leisurely uphill and the ability to turn around whenever you've had enough. I went all the way to the edge of the glacier on baker and finished in the parking lot with 10.5 total miles travelled.

This is a magnificent trail run through perhaps the most coveted wilderness region in Washington State. We started at the Colchuck trailhead, ran to Lake Stuart, back to Colchuck and then headed up Aasgard pass. Make sure to start early - around 5am and bring enough food for 22+ miles of strenuous physical activity. A water filter is also important to bring. We saw tons of mountain goats! Make sure to keep this area as pristine as you found it :)

This hike was dope. Starts out in an alpine meadow and only gets better. Highly recommend

Nice, well maintained campground that is very spacious - you feel secluded, although there are other people nearby. The lake is beautiful, as are the views of Mt. Hood. Bring paddle boards / kayaks / floaties as you'll want to get in the water on hot days. Would recommend this to anyone and would definitely stay here again!

Great hike if you are trying to escape the more popular nearby Trillium Lake. Short distance makes this a good, but steep, trail run. Wear bug spray! The road was also pretty gnarly. I recommend high clearance and 4WD.

This campground is definitely a send - picture half an hour on Nacimiento Fergussen Road, and then another 25 on a dirt road to get to the campground at the end. While the view is beautiful and it is nice to have free, no-reservation camping, once you get up there, you may not want to head back down to go to nearby Sand Dollar Beach. We were up with a group of 25 at the beginning of June and there were TONS of bugs. Biting flies, mosquitos, etc. Bring plenty of water.

Beautiful trail and location. Fill up with water at Vicente flat. We made camp there and then hiked the rest of the way without heavy packs. We had a close encounter with an aggressive mountain lion just north of Vicente. Make sure to bring food bags for overnight and make loud noises / brief yourself on what to do if you run into an animal such as this.

A posting from the California Parks website: "Attention: Carpinteria State Beach will be off the reservation system from Sunday, February 18, 2018 until Thursday, March 15, 2018. We are sorry for any inconvenience but the park will be closed for seasonal upkeep and care. Carpinteria State Beach will be back on reservation Friday, March 16, 2018. During this time period, available campsites will be sold at the kiosk on a day-to-day basis."

Just hiked lake serene 12/13. Beautiful hike, ice and snow on the trail for the last portion before the lake. Microspikes or crampons recommended in the winter. We loved this hike!!

This is a great option for people who want a great workout and want to skip the crowds associated with Mt. Si or Mailbox Peak. Super long - my dad and I were both exhausted at the end. Reminded me of Paradise -> Muir on Rainier, to be honest. Only snow on the top portion of the trail as of 12/10, but microspikes and trekking poles highly recommended year-round... This is steep and the higher you go, the looser the dirt and rocks. Echoing what Jason said below, your day isn't complete without Scotts Dairy Freeze (try the blackberry milkshake).

We hiked the Pohono Trail from Taft Point to Dewey Point in mid-July. The weather was perfect and it wasn't too strenuous. Views can't be beat! As always with Yosemite make sure to get your permits right when they go on sale.

The entire region of Desolation Wilderness is incredible - you cannot go wrong here. We couldn't quite locate the waterfall camp, but nonetheless enjoyed our stay. Will be back in the future to track this down!

Great spot! Trail is south of the bridge labeled "PH." Lots of good swimming holes.

Lovely alpine lake hike. Definitely a popular location, get started early. Many other groups on the trail. Very strenuous, probably 1/4 of this trail is actually scrambling instead of hiking. Good place to spend the night, lots of area to explore (practice LNT principles and stay off of vegetation). Dog friendly!

Hard to beat a great fire lookout hike. Incredible views of Baker and the surrounding North Cascades. WTA says this hike is 7.5 miles out and back, we tracked closer to 8. Definitely felt the elevation, but well worth it. Get up there early if you want the best camp sites. Slim to no water available for refills in late August.

This is a great hike on the I-90 corridor, perfect for swimming. Lots of dogs and people. The lake is a beautiful color. Perfect for hikers of all skill levels.

Truly something to be said about being at 10,000 feet on Rainier. One of the most amazing experiences I've had, and I wish we had more time to explore. If you choose to hike this, be smart! Weather moves in fast and without warning on Rainier. Wear hiking boots, take your time, bring a delorme, check government weather radars, and make sure everyone in your party is in good physical condition. I consider myself to be extremely fit, and I was sore for about a week after this hike.

Arguably my favorite day hike in the state. Absolutely gorgeous, we hardly noticed the difficulty as the views and trail itself are breathtaking. Hard to believe this hike isn't more popular.

This was an amazing backpacking trip - great for beginners and experienced backpackers! Fresh water, amazing rainbows, lots of wildlife (bear, marmot, deer, rattlesnake). Got walk-up permits for free the morning of.

One of the best day hikes offered in the park. We stayed at Mather Campground and used the park's free shuttle service to get to Bright Angel trailhead. There are rest houses with shade and bathrooms every 1.5 miles down the trail. Some of the rest houses will also have water pumps available, depending on time of year. You pass through Indian Garden Campground on mile 4.5 which provides water and access to a ranger station. Plateau Point offers amazing views of the Colorado River that brought tears to all of our eyes.
